The default firmware comes with TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 v2 is having a lot of issues, like the WIFI connectivity is NOT stable, and need to be restarted several time in 1 week time recently
I come across OpenWrt which is the Open Source Firmware for WIFI Router, and decided to give a try on this since there are several good comments on OpenWRT
Please refer to the steps below on how to FLASH my TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 v2
1. Download the OpenWrt for TP-Link C7 AC1750 v2
2. Connect your laptop via LAN Cable and login to TP-Link. Uploading the downloaded Firmware
- Wait for a few minutes to complete the firmware upgrade and the TP-Link Router will be restarted automatically
- Login to OpenWrt with default username = root and NO PASSWORD
-
Configure VLAN=500 for WAN Port (tagged) as I’m using Telekom UNIFI at home
-
Configure the WAN (Internet Connection with PPPoE), IP Address for LAN, DHCP Server, WIFI for both 2.4GHz & 5GHz
It seem like my WIFI Connection had become very stable now, i will monitor and see is there any other issues by using OpenWrt Firmware.
