Tutorial on how to setup Aruba ClearPass VM Appliance in our lab
Download ClearPass 6.9.0.130064 OVF (Around 3.8GB) from Aruba Support Portal

Extract the downloaded CPPM-VM-x86_64-6.9.0.130064-ARUBA-ESX-ovf.zip and import the OVF file to VMware ESXi 7.0 Host

ClearPass VM is provisioned with 8 x vCPU, 8GB RAM, 30GB HDD Space with 2 x vNICs successfully
Add a new 100GB HDD to Aruba ClearPass VM prior powering on

You can reduce the hardware resource to meet the requirement of CLABV (Evaluation OVF) in lab environment (Optional Step)
- 2 x vCPUs
- 6GB RAM
- 80GB Disk Space

Setup Aruba ClearPass VM Appliance
Power on the ClearPass VM and select 1) CBAVA

Review the hardware requirement and enter Y to setup the primary boot image on 100GB HDD

Enter Y to encrypt all local data

It will take several minutes to complete the installation of ClearPass VM
Completing the Virtual Appliance Setup
Login with the following default credential
- Username = appadmin
- Password = eTIPS123
Enter the information of Hostname, Management Port IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Server, Timezone, NTP Server and Cluster Password when prompted
Setting the cluster password also changes the password for the CLI user appadmin, as well as the Administrative user admin.

When ClearPass is configured with a management interface but not the optional data interface, then all traffic goes through management interface.
It will take several minutes to complete the initial setup with the information provided

Applying Policy Manager License
Generate ClearPass Evaluation License from Aruba Support Portal

Go to https://x.x.x.x/tips and install the license

Login to Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager with admin and the password defined during initial setup

Default Dashboard is shown
