Perform Firmware Upgrade for Dell R730 – iDRAC

Download latest Dell IDRAC firmware iDRAC_2.70.70.70_A00.exe and extract it to C:\temp

login to IDRAC and upload the C:\tem[\firmimg.d7 in Overview – iDRAC Settings – Update and Rollback.
Click Install to update the iDRAC firmware
View the Progress in Overview – Server – Job Queue
Wait for the firmware upgrade to complete, and verify the iDRAC firmware had been upgraded to 2.70.70.70
Perform Firmware Upgrade for Dell R730 – BIOS

Download the Latest version of BIOS R730-021100.efi to C:\Temp\BIOS211

Create a IMG file by selecting Virtual Media – Create Image
- Select Source Folder – C:\Temp\BIOS211 and save as C:\Temp\BIOS211.img
Select Virtual Media – Map Removable Disk to mount the C:\temp\BIOS211.img
- Select Next Boot – BIOS Boot Manager

Put the VMware ESXi Host in Maintenance Mode in vCenter and reboot it manually

Select System Utilities
- Select BIOS File Update Explorer
- Select BIOS211 – Virtual Floppy Drive and select R730-021100.efi
9 Select Continue BIOS Update
- Wait for the BIOS Update to complete
- Reboot the server once BIOS Update is completed successfully
- Verify the BIOS had been updated to 2.11
